Protecting endangered forests and wildlife around the world
To date, ForestEthics has protected over 65 million acres of endangered forests. The nonprofit organization was founded in 2000 and has staff in Canada, the United States, and Chile. Its mission is to protect endangered forests, wild places, wildlife, and human wellbeing. Their current campaigns focus on wild places in Canada, Chile, and California's Sierra, as well as on transforming the environmental practices of Fortune 500 companies that use products that come from these places.
Whether it's by brokering agreements with companies or by negotiating legislated protection, ForestEthics protects forests and wild places for the people and wildlife that depend upon them.

Dedicated to mentoring and inspiring our next generation of young writers
826 National is a nonprofit tutoring, writing, and publishing organization with locations in seven cities across the country. After Dave Eggers founded 826 Valencia, the flagship center in San Francisco, educators around the U.S. joined in to pursue the same goals in their local communities. Now 826 Valencia also serves as the headquarters of 826 National, an umbrella organization that coordinates the adaptation of 826's tutoring and mentorship model in other cities.
Through volunteer support, each of the seven 826 chapters provides drop-in tutoring, class field trips, writing workshops, and in-school programs - all free of charge - to inspire a new generation of young writers.
